Ukodhiko Congratulates Aghalino on Appointment as Dennis Osadebay University Vice Chancellor

The Member representing Isoko North and South Federal Constituency in the House of Representatives, Jonathan Ajirioghene Ukodhiko, has congratulated renowned historian, Samuel Ovuete Aghalino, on his appointment as the second substantive Vice Chancellor of Dennis Osadebay University, Asaba.

Ukodhiko, in a statement issued on Friday, described Aghalino’s appointment by the Delta State Government as a well-deserved recognition of academic excellence and administrative competence.

The federal lawmaker noted that the new Vice Chancellor has distinguished himself over the years as a scholar of international repute and a seasoned administrator whose contributions to scholarship and university management have earned him wide respect within and outside the academic community.

According to him, Professor Aghalino’s emergence at the helm of the state-owned university reflects the government’s commitment to appointing capable individuals who can advance the vision of higher education in the state.

Ukodhiko described the historian as more than a conventional academic, portraying him as a bridge-builder, public intellectual and custodian of history whose works and leadership within the Historical Society of Nigeria have significantly contributed to the development of historical scholarship in the country.

“His elevation to the position of Vice Chancellor is a hard-earned testament to his intellectual depth, unwavering consistency and transformative contributions to the academic community,” the lawmaker said.

He expressed confidence that Aghalino’s wealth of experience in teaching, research and academic administration would help reposition the institution for greater excellence.

Ukodhiko also assured the new Vice Chancellor of his readiness to collaborate with the university’s leadership in efforts aimed at strengthening the institution’s capacity to deliver quality education that meets the demands of the 21st century.

The lawmaker prayed for wisdom, strength and divine guidance for the new Vice Chancellor as he assumes leadership of the university, expressing optimism that Aghalino would steer Dennis Osadebay University to greater heights of academic distinction.
