The Deputy Speaker of the Northern Youth Assembly of Nigeria, Itodo Apeh Godswill, has expressed his deepest condolences to the families of the victims of the recent killings in Jos, Plateau State.
The situation is indeed disheartening and worrisome, with the massacre situation escalating fast and getting hard to keep up. The recent killings and massacres in Jos are unacceptable and require immediate attention from the government.
As a youth leader, Godswill urged all stakeholders, including security agencies, community leaders, and the government, to come together to find a lasting solution to this crisis. He emphasized the need to prioritize the safety and well-being of citizens.
The government must take immediate action to protect lives and property, Godswill said. It's time for the government to rise to action, not just words. Concrete steps are needed to address the root causes of this violence and ensure that those responsible are brought to justice.
Godswill echoed the words of Rep member Dachung Musa Bagos, who called on citizens to defend themselves in line with the constitution, while also urging the government to take responsibility for protecting its citizens. He stressed the need for collective action to address this crisis.
The people of Jos and other citizens in Nigeria deserve to live without fear, Godswill said. Every life matters, and it's time for Nigerians to unite to stop the killing in Jos and other parts of the nation.
The Northern Youth Assembly of Nigeria will continue to monitor the situation and work towards finding a peaceful resolution. The assembly will not relent in its efforts to push for the safety and security of all Nigerians.
Godswill called on the government to provide adequate security for the people of Jos and other affected areas. The government must also provide support to the families of the victims and ensure that justice is served.
The youth leader emphasized the need for unity in addressing this crisis, saying, "Let's unite to stop the killing in Jos, Benue, and other parts of the nation. We owe it to ourselves, our children, and future generations to ensure that our country is a safe and peaceful place for all."
