KWARA PDP YOUTH LEADER SLAMS GOVERNMENT OVER RISE IN INSECURITY, URGES URGENT ACTION

By Adesakin Adefemi

Comrade Odunjo Adio, Kwara State PDP Youth Leader, has slammed the government over the rising cases of insecurity in the state, urging them to take urgent action to address the crisis. The state of insecurity in Kwara has reached a frightening and intolerable height, with citizens feeling abandoned and fearful.

Communities are being forced to organize fundraising efforts to pay ransom to kidnappers, highlighting the government's inability to provide adequate security. Rising cases of kidnapping, persistent fear in rural communities, and along roads, are clear indications that the structures meant to safeguard citizens are failing.

The people of Kwara deserve more than empty assurances and excuses. They deserve to feel safe in their homes, communities, and on the roads. The government's inaction has emboldened kidnappers and other criminals, who now operate with impunity.

Comrade Odunjo Adio emphasizes that "the responsibility to secure lives and property is a constitutional obligation, not a favour." The government is being held accountable for its failure to protect citizens.

An Imam remains in the custody of kidnappers, while helpless communities resort to crowd-funding to secure his release. The situation is described as a "clear indication that the structures meant to safeguard citizens are failing."

The government's response has been deemed inadequate, and the people of Kwara are calling for urgent action to address the crisis. "The time for serious action is now," says Comrade Odunjo Adio. "History will not be kind to leadership that watched insecurity grow while citizens lived in fear."

Kwarans are resilient people, but their endurance should not be mistaken for tolerance of neglect. The government must rise to its duty and act with urgency to address the crisis and restore confidence in the system.

The situation in Kwara demands immediate attention, and the government must take concrete steps to address the insecurity crisis. Anything less would be a dereliction of duty and a betrayal of the people's trust.

Comrade Odunjo Adio's statement is a wake-up call to the government to take action and prioritize the safety and security of Kwarans. The people are counting on their leaders to act, and it is imperative that they do so with urgency and determination.
