COMRADE OGHALE EMEKA REX THROWS WEIGHT BEHIND COMRADE AKINTEYE BABATUNDE BABTEE'S NANS PRESIDENCY BID
By Adesakin Adefemi
A powerful endorsement has emerged for Akinteye Babtee Babatunde's presidential bid, as Comrade Oghale Emeka Rex, former coordinator of NANS Zone B, has publicly declared his support for the aspirant. This move is seen as a significant boost to Babtee's campaign, given Rex's influential position and reputation within the student community.
In a scouting statement, Rex hailed Babtee's unprecedented organic support and followership among students, saying it's no longer just stakeholders and SUG Presidents backing him, but ordinary classroom students are now enthusiastically canvassing for his candidacy. Rex attributed this to Babtee's tireless efforts to connect with students through social media and his empowerment programs.
Rex, who has a long-standing friendship with Babtee dating back to his days as JCC Chairman Ondo axis, described their bond as unbreakable, built on trust, mutual respect, and a shared commitment to student welfare. "Babtee has been a worthy friend of mine... he has been supportive to me, and our friendship is built on trust and mutual respect for each other," Rex said, emphasizing that their personal relationship transcends politics.
The former coordinator acknowledged that he wasn't happy with Babtee's decision to pitch his tent with another faction in the last election, but chose to put their differences aside, recognizing that politics is a game of interest. "Babtee is contesting for President of NANS and needs my little support, among all the aspirants he is the most closest person to me," Rex said, explaining his decision to throw his weight behind Babtee's candidacy.
Rex is convinced that Babtee's exposure, contacts, and antecedents as former Vice President External Affairs make him the best candidate for the position, and he's confident that Babtee will emerge victorious and lead Nigerian Students to a brighter future. "Babtee will emerge victorious and will lead Nigerian Students to the BLESSED era," Rex predicted, urging all students to rally behind his friend's candidacy.
The statement has generated intense buzz among students, with many praising Babtee's popularity, grassroots support, and transformative agenda. Babtee's campaign team is yet to comment on the endorsement, but insiders say it's a significant boost to their campaign, injecting fresh energy and momentum into their bid.
As the NANS presidential election draws near, all eyes are on Babtee's campaign, with many expecting a fierce contest. With Rex's endorsement, Babtee's chances of emerging victorious have increased significantly.
The NANS leadership is yet to comment on the endorsement, but student leaders are hailing Rex's move as a bold step towards student unity.
Babtee's supporters are optimistic about their candidate's chances, citing his popularity and grassroots support. "This is just the beginning," said a campaign staffer. "We're going to win this election and bring change to NANS."
The endorsement comes as NANS prepares for its upcoming national convention, where the new president will be elected. With several aspirants vying for the position, the contest is expected to be intense.
