SOUTHWEST YOUTH PARLIAMENT STRENGTHENS TIE WITH OWA OBOKUN ADIMULA OF IJESHALAND

The Southwest Youth Parliament has taken a significant step to strengthen its relationship with traditional rulers in the region, fostering a new era of collaboration and cooperation under the leadership of Rt Hon. Temitope E. Joseph, Speaker of the Parliament. The parliament's speaker led a high-level delegation on a courtesy call to the Palace of the Owa Obokun Adimula of Ijesaland, His Imperial Majesty, Oba Clement Adesuyi Haastrup, Ajimoko III.
The visit was a milestone in the parliament's efforts to foster closer ties with traditional rulers, with a focus on promoting youth development, community engagement, and social cohesion in the Southwest region.
During the visit, Rt Hon. Temitope E. Joseph highlighted the parliament's activities, including initiatives aimed at empowering young people, promoting education, and supporting entrepreneurship. He expressed appreciation for the royal father's initiatives and commitment to the development of the region.
The delegation pledged their respect and loyalty to the throne, with Rt Hon. Joseph emphasizing his pride in being an Ijesha man and his commitment to serving the community.
The Owa Obokun Adimula was presented with a beautiful picture frame, which he graciously accepted as a symbol of the parliament's appreciation for his leadership.
In response, His Imperial Majesty appreciated the visit, saying he was once like the young parliamentarians and promising his support for the parliament's efforts to promote youth development.
He assured the delegation of an open-door policy, inviting the parliament to always feel free to visit him and discuss matters of mutual interest.
The event was attended by several chiefs, including the revered Baba Salotun of Ilesha, Leader of the Parliament, and other members of the parliament, who were impressed by the royal father's warmth and generosity.
The visit marks a significant milestone in the parliament's efforts to engage with traditional rulers and promote youth development in the Southwest region, and is expected to pave the way for further collaboration and cooperation.
