SHOCK ROCKS MUSIC WORLD: Rising Fuji Star Destiny Boy Found Dead, Suspect Arrested

The Ogun State Police Command has arrested a suspect in connection with the death of popular Fuji singer Adesina Afeez, widely known as Destiny Boy. The 22-year-old artist was reportedly battling a private health issue before his passing.

News of Destiny Boy's death broke on Sunday, January 18, 2026, sparking grief and speculation over the cause of his death. Distressing videos showing his body being conveyed to a mortuary circulated widely on social media.

In one video, the artiste was seen lying in the back of a vehicle, with cotton wool placed in his nostrils and ears. An attempt to clarify the circumstances surrounding his passing was made by an unidentified associate.

The police command stated that the case had been transferred to the State Criminal Investigation Department, Homicide Section, for detailed investigation. One suspect is currently in custody, while investigations are ongoing.

Destiny Boy ventured into music at a young age and became known for his Fuji-infused style. He began his career at T2 Boys Studios in Agege, where he worked as a backup dancer for Fuji musician Pasuma.

He rose to prominence in 2019 after releasing a Fuji cover of Davido's hit song If, which gained wide attention on social media. Destiny Boy released several songs, including Lamba, One Transaction, Gbese, Billion Dollar, Mio Gbonkankan, and Lowkey.

The singer and his partner, Iremide, welcomed their first child in November 2024. The police said further updates would be provided as investigations continue.

Destiny Boy's mother had revealed that her son battled a long, mysterious illness. Neighbours and fans have paid tribute to the young artist, remembering his talent and energy.

The police investigation will determine the circumstances surrounding Destiny Boy's death, bringing answers to his loved ones and fans.
