In a tear-filled yet triumphant ceremony at Ibara Housing Estate, Abeokuta, the Redemption Mission Group (RMG) handed over life-changing empowerment kits to more than 350 residents of Ogun State’s Central Senatorial District on Saturday. Beneficiaries received tricycles, motorcycles, freezers, grinding machines, generators, bags of rice, clippers, fertilizers, and cash grants are  all part of RMG’s “Renew Hope Youth Mega Empowerment” initiative.

The event was graced by a high-powered delegation, including Hon. Olumide Osoba (House of Representatives, Abeokuta North/Obafemi Owode/Odeda); Rt. Hon. Oludaisi Elemide (Speaker, Ogun State House of Assembly); Hon. Dr. Folashade Adeyemo (Chairman, Odeda Local Government); Hon. Olufemi Omisanjo (SSA to Governor Dapo Abiodun on Energy); Hon. Olamide Lawal (SSA on Youth & Sport); Hon. Saka Musulumi (Odeda APC Party Chairman); and Chief Sesan Showunmi (National BOT Chairman, Cocoa Association of Nigeria), among other community leaders.

Convener Hon. Oyekunle Adebayo, JP, Oba Odeda Local Government Secretary and founder of RMG told reporters the program stemmed from the group’s core mission: “to touch lives positively across Ogun State.” He said, “We are committed to putting smiles on the faces of our youths through tangible empowerment, and that is what RMG is known for.”

Adebayo praised Governor Prince Dr. Dapo Abiodun is “youth-friendly,” crediting his administration for creating an enabling environment for young people to thrive. He also expressed deep gratitude to Chief Olusegun Osoba, National Leader of the APC and former Ogun Governor for “his love, constant advice, and financial support that kept RMG alive and growing despite many challenges.”

In a moving address that brought many to tears, Adebayo shared RMG’s humble origins: “It began with the Dove Meeting, organized by loyalists of Rt. Hon. Oludaisi Elemide — now Mr. Speaker. After one session, he called me aside and said: ‘Oyekunle, go and form your own group. Build something separate.’ He even gave us the name Redemption Mission Group because he didn’t want his own group to die. That selfless act became the foundation of everything you see today.”

Voice cracking with emotion, he added: “Today is not an ordinary day. My heart is full. I stand here looking at hundreds of lives about to be changed, and all I can say is: ‘Lord, I am grateful.’ We are not just giving items we are giving wings. We are delivering President Tinubu’s Renewed Hope Agenda and Governor Abiodun’s ISEYA Agenda straight to the doorsteps of our people.”

Hon. Olumide Osoba commended Adebayo’s “unwavering commitment” and urged RMG to “never relent,” saying the impact would “go a long way in improving the lives of our people I am truly proud of you.”

Rt. Hon. Oludaisi Elemide declared: “Ogun State is proud of RMG. You are showing the world how to give back, and we will continue to support you.”

Among beneficiaries, 27-year-old tailor Adebimpe Oluwaseun from Ijaye received a brand-new sewing machine and vowed: “This is not just a tool it is my future. I won’t sell it. I’ll build my business.” Farmer Tunde Adeyemi from Odeda wept upon receiving a tricycle and 10 bags of fertilizer: “Now I can transport my crops and feed my family. God bless Hon. Oyekunle.”

Adebayo concluded with a solemn charge: “Don’t sell these gifts. Use them to rise. Let this be the beginning of your greatness.”

RMG also presented Awards of Excellence to Chief Olusegun Osoba, Hon. Olumide Osoba, and Rt. Hon. Oludaisi Elemide in appreciation of their mentorship and unwavering support.
