The Ogun State Police Command has filed a six-count charge against social media blogger Adetoun Onajobi, popularly known as Justadetoun, over alleged cyberbullying, false accusations, and other offences bordering on the Cybercrimes Act. The charges were filed before the Federal High Court, Abeokuta Ogun State.
According to the police, Adetoun Onajobi was invited on January 2, 2026, to respond to allegations arising from her online publications targeted at the Ogun State Government and the governor. However, she failed to honour the invitation, claiming through her lawyer that she was medically indisposed.
A medical report was submitted in support of her claim, but discreet investigations by the police established that the report was false. The doctor who issued it was arrested and reportedly admitted that the document was fabricated at the instruction of the suspect.
The doctor has since been arraigned before a Magistrates’ Court on charges, including conspiracy, uttering a false document, and obstruction of justice. The police disclosed that Adetoun Onajobi has remained evasive, ignored subsequent invitations, and her current whereabouts are unknown.
The Ogun State Police Command says it is intensifying efforts to apprehend her and bring her before the court to answer the charges already filed. DSP Oluseyi B. Babaseyi, Police Public Relations Officer, reaffirmed that the command remains resolute in tackling all forms of crime, including digital offences.
The police stressed that although freedom of expression is constitutionally guaranteed, it does not provide immunity for criminal conduct. The command urged the public to respect the law and avoid engaging in activities that could be construed as cyberbullying or other digital offences.
The case has sparked widespread interest in Ogun State, with many calling for the blogger to be brought to justice. The police have assured the public that they will do everything possible to apprehend Adetoun Onajobi and ensure she faces the full weight of the law.
